COSTA RICA BABY!!!!!

Finally, here is a glimpse of our trip in Costa Rica. Honestly, it is just a glimpse. We had so much fun and the country is beautiful. This was one of those trips that you walk away from with a renewed sense of life and people and dreams. We meet so many cool people from all over the world, picked up hitchhikers, gave locals rides on the rugged roads, exchanged emails, and made tons of memories.

Quick run down. We spent our first day making our way up to Arenal (rainforest) where we spent 2 nights. From here we went to the Jungle River cruise up near the Nicauraguan border, saw tons of wildlife including monkeys, sloths, birds, caimans, and Basilisks. The rest of the time in Arenal we spent just swimming, sight seeing, and going to the hanging bridges. Oh, and I got a pedicure. :) Next we spent 3 days in Monteverde (more mountains and cloud forest). This was probably my favorite area. Here we had fun rallying over the rodes, ziplinning, hiking to waterfalls, riding horses, and meeting awesome people. From there we headed to the Beach for 3 nights. This in and of itself was like its own little relaxing vacation within a vacation. We did nothing but sleep in, swim, wander, kayak and then the finale was an awesome Jetski ride on the ocean. It was sad to leave the beach but we still had 3 fun days to look forward to. We stayed one night in San Jose (huge city-not that great) but we had an early morning pickup for our river raft trip. I will post seperate pics of that trip. It was so fun and we got to stay overnight in a beautiful eco lodge that was a tarzan/swiss family robinson mix. The Pacuare which is one of the top 10 in the world for white water rafting.

Costa Rica is an ecologically diverse country. I think after this trip and with our previous trip to Italy, Rivers is starting to see why I want to travel so much. Bad thing is that now he is getting the bug, and we won't have one of us to talk some sense into us. Anyway, enjoy the pics.
