Hey Kiddo!!

A couple of weeks ago it dumped about 16 inches
here in Sandy. (That is 16" of Snow) Julia's brother Jason was here and he had the idea of building a snow cave. For those of you who don't know Julia is who I nanny for and we rent their basement apartment. Anyway, that evening Rivers and I donned our entire snow gear and headed out to start digging. It was pretty fun for me just because we were doing something other than watching movies together, and I think Rivers was really having fun too. See, he has been reading this Guide to Wilderness survival book lately and he is big into Man Vs. Wild or Survivor Man - which ever one it is. So this allowed him to put what he has read to the test.

The mountain of snow was as tall as Rivers and atleast 8 feet wide by 6 feet deep, it was pretty cool to have such a big snow cave in the front yard. If it wouldn't have been a week day I think we would have tried to sleep in it. Anyway, there we are out in the front yard when some young guy comes walking past. He looked like he was in his early 20's (a salesman for comcast). As he passes me this was the dialogue:

Him: "Hey, hows it goin"
Me: "Pretty good"
Him: "You buildin a fort?"
Me: "We are actually digging a snow cave"
Him: "Cool"
(Keep in mind we are within feet from each other and he is continuing to walk past)
Him: "Well, you kids be good"

What? -- "You kids be good" I swear sometimes I think people just come up with the same dumb lines and then regurgitate those when they cant think of anything else to say. I should have yelled back " Alright, Grandpa" Seriously, I felt like saying how old do you think I am - because I know I am older than you, and this isn't my brother it is my husband!

It is kindof like when you go to the store and the cashier who is also younger than me looks at me and says "Hey Hun" . I guess I shouldn't complain I would rather be Kids and Hun than ma'am.

Oh man, I got called ma'am at Einstein's this morning. It really bummed me out.

I think its cool that you are Rivers were so into digging out the snow cave. I know it made Jason very happy. Sorry that we were sledding off the top of it and you'll probably have to redo during the next big storm!
