Blue Hawaii

a
One of my favorite Elvis Presley movies is BLUE HAWAII. This is mostly due to the fact that when I was a little girl living in Beautiful Hawaii we watched this show over and over. Really, I have only seen a few of Elvis's movies: Girls! Girls! Girls!, GI. Blues, Double Trouble, Tickle Me, Kissin' Cousins, and maybe one or two others. He did like 30 or 35 movies all in the span of about 10 years back in the late 50's early 60's. I hadn't seen the movie in so long and I was kind of thinking about Hawaii so last weekend Rivers and I rented it. We had to go to a few different Blockbusters to find it (can you believe that on the same night we wanted it, the copies were all rented out). Yeah, after seeing it now that I am older I must admit there are some cheesy parts, and a little more singing than I remembered, but still a great movie.
Here is a pic from the great Hookie Lau scene. Love the swimsuit styles :)

Notice the E E E at the top of the picture (Ecstatic Romance Exotic Dancing Exciting Music) really what has the world come to now if Blue Hawaii was considered Exotic Dancing back in the 60's. Gotta Hand it to him-he was a ladies man. So if you are looking for something to do this weekend grab yourself a ripe Pineapple, a Mai Tai (Aloha Jack Aloha Daddy), and a movie full of some good old fashioned E. E. E.

P.S.
If you don't get the (Aloha Jack Aloha Daddy) just watch the movie and you'll know what I mean.

I must admit, I don't think I've ever seen even one Elvis movie. I think I might just take your advice and have me a nice little Hawaiian weekend!

Hi Monica,
Glad we could hang out for a bit this weekend. And I'm glad we started taking about blogs. It's funny how many people we know that have them. But I don't know how to spell your last name. So will you let me know. We need to hang out again. So when your schedules are a bit less hectic, give us a call. Or I'll call you when we get back from KC in 3 weeks.

I don't think I've ever seen it, but since Jeff is a big Elvis fan I should tell him we need to have a Hawaiian night complete with coconut bras.

Monica,
I'm new to this whole blog thing but I'm having so much fun getting updates on everyone from school. I've never seen Blue Hawaii but Pat and I went to Kauai last April and saw the CoCo Palms Resort (so sad to see it destroyed) and then took to tour up the river to the grove thing. I can't remember what it's called. Anyway very cool!
